Jacob Christopher Green, also known as Muffy Fishbasket, moved to Chicago 2002 to start a theater company, Hubris Productions. With Green as artistic director, Hubris raised thousands of dollars for various charities – including the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, the Center on Halsted, PFLAG, Howard Brown Health, and the U.S. Holocaust Museum – and highlighted awareness of the organizations’ missions.
In 2016, Green introduced his alternate persona, Muffy Fishbasket, and launched the Chicago chapter of Drag Story Hour (originally known as Story Time with Drag Queens). Green has been recognized around the city – including through coverage in TimeOut Chicago and Chicago Magazine – for his work promoting diversity, inclusion, representation and literacy despite facing political backlash and threats.
